MG Motor targets tier two and three cities with mobile showroom
The brand aims to further its customer engagement across India as well as reach, especially where its showrooms are not yet present
MG Motor is will undertake a pan-India tour with a focus on tier two and three markets starting December 5 in a mobile showroom. The mobile showroom, a 45-feet trailer, showcases the Hector. It showcases the brand’s focus on digital-led experiences and comprises of an interactive digital terminal.
According to Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India, “MG Experience on Wheels will help us expand our reach further and garner customer interest in markets where our showrooms are not yet present.”
The Hector now commands 1.77% of the UV market share in the August-October period with a sale of 9,670 units and has close to 40,000 bookings in hand, making the midsize SUV sold out till February 2020. A 6-seater derivative of the Hector is also in the pipeline. It recently launched the first digital showroom in Bengaluru and aims to increase the total number of stores to 250 from current 150 .
The carmaker is also working on the launch of its second model for India, the all-electric ZS EV, which will be in early 2020. The automaker plans to tap 5 cities in the first phase, and offer its own charging infrastructure to address range anxiety, a major hurdle in the way of mass adoption of EVs.
