JK Tyre launches XF TBRs, claims up to 8% savings on fuel
The XF tyre series, targeted at long- and regional haul truck and bus applications, banks on lower rolling resistance to improve tyre efficiency; JK Tyre claims saving of up to 8% in fuel in comparison to regular radials.
JK Tyre & Industries, one of the leading tyre makers in the truck and bus radial segment, has launched the next generation of fuel-efficient tyres: the XF. The two XF variants – front axle Jetway JUH XF and rear axle Jetsteel JDH XF – are claimed to be "ideal for long-haul applications".
Vikram Malhotra, marketing director, JK Tyre & Industries says, “With our game-changing XF series, we want to give our customers the next generation of fuel-efficient tyres. This further underscores our promise to deliver to the evolving needs of the market and introduce tyres that help maintain pace with the changing market requirements.”
The XF tyre series is developed using advanced technology of ‘lower rolling resistance’ (RRC), which tJK Tyre claims helps improve tyre efficiency and may save up to eight percent fuel in comparison to normal radial tyres. The tyre maker further adds that the XF series has been created using innovative 'JETOCT' technology that helps in reducing the heat build-up in the carcass. That is also claimed to improve durability. In addition, the XF tyres also maintain a higher tread stiffness, aided by the new tetra beam belt, allowing for greater number of retreads. The XF Series tyres is available across JK Tyre authorised dealers in the country.
JK Tyre has global presence in 100 countries across six continents along with 9 plants in India and 3 in Mexico. Currently, the manufacturing capacity across all its plants is about 35 million tyres per annum.
Currently the market leader in the truck and bus radial segment, JK Tyre's portfolio covers the entire range of passenger and commercial vehicles, starting from a 3kg two-wheeler tyre to a 3.5-ton OTR tyre.
