Taiwan’s Xing Mobility reveals cell-to-pack customisable solution for cars, SUVs and CVs

Taiwan-based Xing Mobility, a leader in battery immersion cooling technology, has announced development of Immersio cells and the official launch of its Cell-to-Pack (CTP) product at the upcoming IAA Mobility 2023, to be held in Munich from September 5-8.

The innovative battery pack, which will be debuted to a global audience at the global trade fair, features high energy density, excellent heat dissipation and safety features.

The Immersio CTP solution features a flexible pack concept that can be tailored to the specific needs of a variety of applications, including sedans, commercial vehicles, trucks, sports cars and SUVs. The solution boasts excellent energy density of up to 200Wh/kg and fast charging in less than 15 minutes at 20-80% SoC (state of charge).

The core of the Immersio CTP solution is Xing's patented immersion cooling technology. This can efficiently remove heat within individual cells, prevent thermal runaway and prevent fire from spreading to the entire pack. This power supply solution is made of high-tensile engineering plastic and features a sophisticated Cell Management Unit (CMU) to ensure durability and reliability. The device integrates an Intelligent Active Safety Module that monitors and controls the temperature, voltage and current of each cell.

Groundbreaking custom battery cooling
According to Xing, the Immersio CTP solution is the result of extensive research and development of Xingyi's battery immersion cooling technology. Its technology utilises advanced high-nickel (nickel-rich nickel) anode cylindrical lithium-ion cells cooled with mineral oil. Xing Mobility works closely with customers to provide optimal solutions to meet their needs.

The pack concept is highly flexible and can be customised to meet the specific application needs of customers. This process starts with discussing the customer's needs, goes through prototyping, testing and certification to manufacture a battery solution that perfectly fits the customer's needs. Afterwards, Immersio will continue to monitor the product's actual performance in the field and will suggest further improvements based on this information.

Xing Mobility is to exhibit the Immersio CTP solution at Booth C31 in Hall A3 at IAA Mobility 2023 next month.
