It's been a good week for Mazda. The all-new Mazda3 has been named China Car of the Year 2020. It is the first time a Mazda has won the award.

For China Car of the Year 2020, 194 models launched in mainland China between October 1, 2018 and September 30, 2019, were eligible. The all-new Mazda3 was chosen as the top pick among 10 nominees by a panel comprising 38 judges including automotive journalists.

On November 21, the car won the Thailand Car of the Year 2019 title awarded by the Thai Automotive Journalists Association. It is the second time a Mazda has won Thailand Car of the Year, after the Mazda CX-3 took the 2016 award. Since May 2019, all-new Mazda3 for the Thai market has been locally produced at AutoAlliance (Thailand) Co.

And on November 18, the Mazda 3 was named the Women’s Car of the Year 2019. The announcement was made at the Dubai International Motor Show. The Women’s World Car of the Year's all-woman jury comprised 41 jurors from 34 countries, including Autocar India’s Renuka Kirpalani. In addition to winning the top honour, the Mazda 3 was adjudged the Family Car of the Year as well.
