Today marks the 50th anniversary of the moon landing – July 19, 1969, the day when the Apollo Lunar Module Eagle touched down on the surface of the moon. In the years since this successful mission, numerous leaps in space-age technology have made their way into everyday life.  

Nissan, and other automakers, use many of these technologies. Here are 10 technologies brought back down to Earth and into some cars:

– Radar- and camera-based (Nissan ProPilot Assist) driver-assistance technology 
– LED lighting –
– Zero gravity seats with temper foam
– GPS-based navigation
– Computer software
– Lithium-ion batteries 
– Heat-resistant brakes 
– Studless winter tyres 
– Exhaust heat shields 
– Satellite radio
