Toyota Kirloskar Motor Opens New City Office in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar
Toyota Kirloskar Motor inaugurated its new city office in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, strengthening its presence in Maharashtra.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor inaugurated its new city office in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra, marking a significant step in the company's expansion within the state.
The new facility was inaugurated by Masakazu Yoshimura, Chairman, MD & CEO of TKM, and Swapnesh Maru, Deputy Managing Director Corporate Planning, Green Field Project. The office spans 7,000 square feet and is located at ABC EAST Beside Prozone Mall Chikalthana.
This development follows the Memorandum of Understanding signed between TKM and the Government of Maharashtra in July 2024, which aimed at facilitating the establishment of a Greenfield Manufacturing Facility in the region.
Speaking at the inauguration, Swapnesh Maru, Deputy Managing Director Corporate Planning, Green Field Project, TKM said, "The inauguration of our new office in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar will enable us with a more localised approach by deepening our market engagement and stakeholder connect. Looking ahead, we remain committed to bringing in world-class manufacturing capabilities to the region—unlocking Marathwada's potential by creating employment, nurturing skilled talent, and driving inclusive, sustainable growth."
He added, "With strong government support, we are confident that our presence will serve as a catalyst for regional transformation and aligns with our vision of contributing to India's industrial development and the national aspiration of Viksit Bharat @2047."
With the MoU progressing as planned, TKM is actively working towards rolling out key initiatives to strengthen the local ecosystem. These efforts include the launch of industry-relevant skill development programs and targeted support to educational institutions. The company's approach aligns with the philosophy of 'Grow India – Grow with India'.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor operates with equity participation from Toyota Motor Corporation (Japan) at 89 percent and Kirloskar Systems Limited (India) at 11 percent. The company employs over 6,500 people and operates across approximately 432 acres with a total installed production capacity of up to 342,000 units.
The company's first plant, established in October 1997 with production beginning in December 1999, is located in Bidadi and manufactures the Innova HyCross, Innova Crysta, Fortuner, and Legender with an installed production capacity of up to 132,000 units. The second plant, which began production in December 2010, also located in Bidadi, produces the Camry Hybrid, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and Hilux with an installed production capacity of up to 210,000 units.
The company also offers other Toyota models including Glanza, Rumion, and Urban Cruiser Taisor, while importing Vellfire and LC 300 as completely built units.
