Apollo Tyres launches premium bike tyres under Tramplr brand

The company hopes the new products will help it secure 20 percent of the premium segment motorcycle market.

A new brand name and two all-new tyre offerings were launched by Apollo Tyres for adventure touring, dual sports riding enthusiasts.

The new offerings are the Tramplr XR and Tramplr ST, both high-performance products which have, says the company, distinctive job descriptions created by the tyremaker to cater to sports, touring, adventure touring, cruisers and street sport type of motorcycles.

The Tramplr XR is endure-based with 70:30 off- on-road bias while Tramplr ST is positioned as dual purpose 80:20 street-biased product. Developed in India and tested in Europe and India, both tyres come with advanced features for treads, contact patches, sidewalls, asymmetric grooves, tyre wear indicator among other performance features like improving mileage and handling and performance capabilities, the company said. Apollo Tyres hopes the new products will help it secure 20 percent of the premium segment motorcycle market.

Satish Sharma, President Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa said during the launch, “The changing consumption pattern of Indian consumers along with the increased enthusiast segment of riders who seek adventure have led us to giving them new shoes to do more with their motorcycles. From being focused on steel radial technology products for great sports performance, we are now pushing the envelope to go for dual and adventure segments.”

The Tramplr XR will cater to Royal Enfield Classic, Yamaha FZ Series, Suzuki Gixxer, KTMs, Bajaj Dominor and BMW G310R. Prices for a set begin at Rs 6,500 and tops out at Rs 12,000 depending on size and variants.

Tramplr ST boasts of exclusively designed tread pattern and unique features for better wet grip for city riding as well as off-roading in all-weather conditions. Both feature a zero-degree steel radial belt design and are built for medium to higher-displacement motorcycles.
