Apollo Tyres appoints Parmeshwaran Iyer as Chief Supply Chain Officer
Global supply chain professional tasked with strategically developing and optimising the tyre maker's global supply chain operations, aligning demand forecasting, production planning, and logistics management, will also focus on the increased usage of environmentally responsible practices.
Apollo Tyres has appointed Parmeshwaran Iyer as its Chief Supply Chain Officer to lead the global supply chain team. He has been tasked with strategically developing and optimising the global supply chain operations, aligning demand forecasting, production planning, logistics management, and stakeholder coordination with overarching business objectives, thereby driving operational excellence, enhancing competitiveness, and fostering sustainable growth.
Commenting on Iyer’s appointment Neeraj Kanwar, Vice-Chairman and MD, Apollo Tyres said: “Parmeshwaran is a global supply chain leader who comes with rich experience, having worked in diverse environments and is committed to promoting creativity, effective problem solving, and breakthrough results using exceptional communication and leadership skills to coach, manage and motivate diverse professionals across geographies and challenging environments. He joins us as a key member of the Global Executive Committee.”
Global supply chain professional with rich experience
Parmeshwaran joins Apollo Tyres from Beiersdorf AG, having worked across Germany, UAE, Russia and India. In his last role he was the Global Vice President, Digital Supply Chain, responsible for defining and implementing Digitalisation initiatives in Supply Chain across the group.
Prior to leading the digital transformation, he led the global competency team responsible for building capabilities in Planning, Logistics, Customer Service areas including S&OP, Cost to Serve, Logistics Excellence.
Iyer has also led the Regional Supply Chain within the Beiersdorf AG group, including end-to end Supply Chain Management in the region comprising of 88 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Russia/CIS and Southwest Asia (including India). Prior to this, he has worked with Johnson and Johnson, Total Energies India and Daikin Airconditioning.
Parmeshwaran will be based out of Apollo Tyres’ corporate headquarters in Gurugram, India and report to Neeraj Kanwar, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director.
