Aisin Group to showcase latest development at NAIAS 2018

The Aisin Group, which comprises Aisin Seiki Co, Aisin Takaoka Co, Aisin AW Co, Aisin AW Industries Co, and Aisin Shinwa Co, has announced that it will showcase its latest technology and development towards nex-gen vehicles at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), 2018.

The NAIAS, scheduled for January 15-28, 2018 will be held at Cobo Center, in Detroit, will mark participation of the Aisin Group for the sixth consecutive year. The company says it considers NAIAS as one of the top motor shows in the world and it continues to be an important part of Aisin Group's global event strategy, which also includes exhibits at shows in Frankfurt, Paris, Beijing, Shanghai, and Tokyo.

The Group states that it will showcase its response to the rapid structural changes in the global auto industry, and its exhibit will focus on three next-generation growth areas – zero emissions, automated driving, and connected cars.

Zero Emissions
Expansion of Aisin's powertrain line-up will be presented in response to the shift toward vehicle electrification, including an FWD 1-Motor hybrid transmission utilising existing technology and eAxle.

Automated Driving 
Integrated vehicle dynamics control, including an unconscious driver support system, as well as automated valet parking, will be displayed. 

Connected Cars 
The Group will demonstrate its location based services which will be presented and explained, as well as hospitality services in which the vehicle interprets users' feelings and continuously provides a comfortable ride.

It will also showcase its transmission line-up, including the 10-speed RWD AT for high torque capacity application, along with its full variable displacement oil pump optimising fuel consumption, and its thermal management system, including electric water pump and grille shutter enabling efficient energy utilisation.

Additionally the Tier 1 supplier will showcase the latest version of its popular Demo Car, marking its North American debut. It says the frame-model demonstration vehicle is equipped with a wide range of the latest products in the Aisin Group line-up. The educational structure which was designed to demonstrate specific parts and their related applications using effects such as movement, and large LED video images, will illustrate the distinctive features of each product.

Additionally the Aisin Group which will also make its debut at CES 2018. It's exhibit will feature a pneumatic driving simulator, which will demonstrate the latest in automotive smart seat technology. Also, the ILY-Ai, Aisin's three-wheeled personal mobility prototype vehicle, will be demonstrated. ILY-Ai meets diverse user needs by switching into four modes: Vehicle, Scooter, Cart, and Carry.

Smart Seat Technology

Seat Bolster: Automatically adjusts the seat to support the occupant by estimating upcoming lateral force based on navigation and vehicle information.

Smart Relaxation Seat: Allows the seat to anticipate the best timing to activate the massage function based on road conditions and navigation information.

Traffic Information Seat: Combining Connected Car technology, this system supports smooth driving by detecting and indicating real time traffic information with the display and vehicle seats.
