Times may be tough but the Varroc Group’s managing director has showed pluck and determination by acquiring Visteon’s global lighting business. And for this he wins Autocar Professional’s premier end-of-year accolade.
The 50-year old first-generation entrepreneur was awarded the title for more than meeting his target of taking the Varroc Group to a high of Rs 4,000 crore in annual revenue by 2012. The twin acquisitions of Italy-based two-wheeler lighting major Triom and, subsequently, Visteon’s exterior lighting business have catapulted Varroc to an annualised turnover of over Rs 7,500 crore today, along with the host of prestigious global two-wheeler and four-wheeler clients that came its way along with the new entities.
