Data can tell two very different stories. Viewed one way, VinFast's first year in India was about the rise of a promising new challenger. In July, the Vietnamese automaker recorded its highest-ever monthly sales of 1,478 electric vehicles, climbing to 5th place in India's electric passenger vehicle (PV) rankings with 4% market share. This placed it ahead of established global names such as BYD, Hyundai, Kia, Toyota and Tesla in the country's still-nascent EV market.
