Jaguar launches F-type in India at Rs 1.37 crore

Mumbai, July 8, 2013: Jaguar launched the F-type two-seater sports car in India. Joining the XK convertible and coupe models, the new F-type provides Jaguar with a broader line of sports and GT models.

Two variants will be available in India – the F-type S priced at Rs 1.37 crore and F- type V8S at Rs 1.61 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai). They are powered respectively by Jaguar’s new 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine which develops 380bhp and a 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine that produces 495bhp. While the range-topping F-type V8S will reach 100kph in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 300kph, the 380bhp V6 F-type S will reach 100kph in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 275kph.

Rohit Suri, vice-president, Jaguar & Land Rover India, said: “The Jaguar F-type is our all-new, two-seater sports car and we believe it will be a game-changer for the Indian sports car market. With its stunning design and driver-focused engineering, this car will further enhance the appeal of our brand in India.”

Jaguar India says it has registered sales growth of 68 percent in the first quarter of this fiscal year, thanks to the locally assembled XF 2.2-litre diesel, which was launched earlier this year.
