Tata EV Registers Highest Monthly and Quarterly Dispatches in June and Q1 FY2027
India’s electric passenger vehicle market leader, which has just launched the Sierra EV, dispatched 14,800 zero-emission cars and SUVs in June to take its April-June 2026 wholesales to 34,467 units, making Q1 FY2027 its best quarter yet.
Electric passenger vehicle market leader Tata Motors, which registered its highest monthly retail sales of over 12,000 EVs this June, has also recorded its highest monthly wholesales as well as its best quarter yet.
In June 2026, the car and SUV manufacturer dispatched 14,800 zero-emission passenger vehicles, marking a 183% year-on-year increase (June 2025: 5,228 units). June was also the second month running that Tata EV surpassed wholesales of 10,000 units, having done so for the first time in May (10,517 units, up 85%).
As a result of the strong month-on-month growth, cumulative e-PV wholesales for Q1 FY2027 (April-June 2026), at 34,467 units, jumped 112% YoY (Q1 FY2026: 16,231 units), beating the previous best of 24,855 Tata e-PVs in Q2 FY2026.

The record 14,800 units in June took first-half CY2026 wholesales to 61,398 units, marking robust 91% YoY growth and 76% of Tata Motors’ highest annual EV sales of 81,125 units in CY2025.
The rapid acceleration in demand for Tata Motors’ EVs has meant that first-half CY2026 sales of 61,398 units constitute stellar growth of 91% YoY (January-June 2025: 32,167 units). What’s more, the H1 CY2026 numbers are already 76% of the company’s record annual sales of 81,125 e-PVs in CY2025 and should surpass the 125,000-unit mark in CY2026 with ease.
Among the mainstream PV manufacturers in India, Tata Motors continues to have the largest EV portfolio. It has seven models comprising the Tiago EV, Nexon EV, Punch EV, Harrier EV, Curvv EV, Tigor EV/Xpres-T (for fleet buyers), and the just-launched Sierra EV.
With growing demand for its PVs and EVs, particularly the new as well as refreshed models, Tata Motors is registering higher EV penetration levels. In Q1 FY2027, EVs accounted for a 19% share of the 180,166 PVs dispatched to showrooms. In CY2025, the company had an EV penetration level of 14% (81,125 EVs / 578,771 PVs), compared to 12% in CY2024 (69,980 EVs / 562,468 PVs) and CY2023 (69,153 EVs / 551,378 PVs).
