Exactly a year after it was officially launched on January 27, 2025, and a little over 13 months after start of production on December 13, 2024 at the Skoda Auto plant in Chakan, Pune, the 50,000th Skoda Kylaq compact SUV rolled out from the production line on January 27, 2026.

Having manufactured 47,022 Kylaqs between January and December 2025, this would mean the milestone 50,000th Kylaq would be Unit No. 2,978 manufactured between January 1-27. In CY2025, Skoda Auto India’s plant manufactured a total of 73,696 vehicles including the Kylaq compact SUV, Slavia sedan, Kushaq and Kodiaq midsize SUVs. Of this total 12-month production, the Kylaq (47,022 units) accounted for the largest share – 64% – in tandem with its sales in the domestic market. Skoda India has also exported 74 units in the past 12 months.

The Kylaq, which marked Skoda Auto India’s entry into the ultra-competitive compact SUV segment, has been a game-changer. In CY2025, the Kylaq with 46,872 units helped Skoda India’s passenger vehicle sales jump 107% YoY to 72,666 units (CY2024: 35,164 units) and Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Group’s 36% YoY growth.
