The Tata Curvv SUV-coupé, the eighth model in Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle portfolio and its fifth utility vehicle and SUV, has driven past the 50,000-unit wholesales mark in the domestic market. Launched in its electric avatar on August 7, 2024 and petrol- and diesel-engined variants on September 2, 2024, the Tata Curvv has sold an estimated 50,091 units, which makes for a 7% share of Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle sales of 753,355 units and an 8.50% share of the 590,592 Tata SUVs sold between August 2024 and end-November 2025.
Compared to the 34,019 units sold in the first eight months after its August 2024 launch, Tata Curvv sales have dropped 53% in the subsequent eight months (April-November 2025).
In FY2025’s last eight months, the Curvv sold 34,019 units and contributed 7.86% to Tata Motors’ UV dispatches of 432,667 units for the full fiscal year. In the first eight months of FY2026, 16,072 units have been dispatched to dealers, accounting for 5.49% of the company’s estimated sales of 292,574 SUVs. While the Curvv’s highest monthly sales to date were in festive October 2024 (5,351 units), which remains its best monthly score, the lowest monthly wholesales were in November 2025 (1,094 units).
Compared to the promising start for the SUV-coupé sold with petrol, diesel and electric powertrains, demand has fallen sharply in the current fiscal year. From average monthly sales of 4,252 units in the August 2024-March 2025 period of FY2025, the average monthly wholesales count has dropped to 2,009 units in the last eight months (April-November 2025) of FY2026. This works out to a 53% YoY decline and a resultant slip in the Curvv’s ranking in the five-model Tata Motors’ SUV stable.
In FY2025, the Curvv (34,019 units) took the third rank after the Punch (196,567 units) and Nexon (163,087 units) and was ahead of the Safari (20,035 units) and Harrier (18,959 units) in Tata Motors’ SUV portfolio. In the current fiscal’s first eight months, with 16,072 units, the Curvv is ranked fourth after the Nexon (134,074 units), Punch (109,018 units), and Harrier (20,903 units) but is ahead of the Safari (12,507 units).
The ICE Curvv, with has nearly 50 variants on sale – 20 petrol, 14 diesel and 7 electric. Pricing for the 34-variant ICE Tata Curvv (petrol and diesel) starts from Rs 965,690 and rises to Rs 18.73 lakh (ex-showroom). The Curvv comes with three engine options: 120hp 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, 118hp 1.5-litre diesel and 125hp 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol. All three engines come with a 6-speed manual as standard, along with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic option.
While the Tata Curvv directly competes with the Citroen Basalt coupe-SUV, which has sold a total of 2,591 units since its launch 16 months ago (like the Curvv in August 2024), this Tata SUV-coupé also serves as an alternative to midsize SUVs such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor and Skoda Kushaq.
Meanwhile, the zero-emission avatar – Tata Curvv EV – has a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 17.49 lakh. At this price point, the Curvv EV rivals the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Vinfast VF6, and MG ZS EV in the electric midsize SUV segment.
The Curvv EV battery capacity is 45kWh in entry level variants and 55kWh in higher variants. Tata Curvv EV range is claimed at up to 430km - 502km (ARAI), with a real-world figure of around 365km for the 55kWh variants. It has a single-motor FWD powertrain that makes up to 167 hp and 215 Nm. The Curvv EV does the 0-100kph sprint in 11.15 seconds as per real-world testing.
The Tata Curvv ranks high on the safety index and both the ICE and electric versions have secured a top 5-star Bharat NCAP crash safety rating.
Tata Motors Headed for Record Annual Sales in CY2025
Tata Motors has, in the past 11 months of the current calendar year, clocked wholesales of 528,725 cars and SUVs, up 2% YoY (January-November 2024: 518,238 units). This is 94% of its best-ever annual score in CY2024 (562,468 units) and needs to sell another 33,744 passenger vehicles (PVs) to achieve that.
The company’s EV portfolio (74,219 units, up 8% YoY) has contributed 14% to PV sales and is set to end this calendar year with record sales of over 80,000 units. One can expect Tata to sell around 52,000 PVs including EVs this month (December 2025) which would take its CY2025 total to 580,000 units, making it the fourth year in a row that the company has surpassed half-a-million wholesales. Strong December sales would also make Tata Motors the new No. 3 for CY2025, ahead of Hyundai Motor India.
