Tata Motors launches Curvv at introductory price of Rs 10 lakh
Curvv diesel-DCT price starts at Rs 14 lakh.
Tata Motors has launched the Curvv ICE with introductory prices starting from Rs 10 lakh, going up to Rs 17.7 lakh. The company says that despite its body style making it a niche offering, the Curvv’s pricing, powertrain choices and multiple variants will ensure it takes on all competitors in the midsize SUV segment.
The Curvv is being offered in a total of eight variants to choose from, namely Smart, Pure+, Pure+ S, Creative, Creative S, Creative+ S, Accomplished S and Accomplished+ A. The entry-level petrol variants are priced from Rs 10 lakh, while the pricing for the diesel version starts from Rs 11.5 lakh. The direct-injection turbo-petrol engine is offered from the Creative S variant onwards, with prices starting from Rs 14 lakh.

Do note that Tata has yet to reveal the complete price list for the Curvv as prices for all the automatic variants have yet to be announced. For now, we know that the entry-level petrol-DCT version starts at Rs 12.5 lakh, while the entry-level diesel-DCT starts at Rs 14 lakh. For the 125hp turbo-petrol engine with the dual-clutch auto, prices start at Rs 16.4 lakh.
These prices are valid for bookings made before October 31, 2024.
Based on the new ATLAS platform, the Curvv comes with three engine options: a 120hp, 170Nm, 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol mill, a 118hp, 1.5-litre diesel unit and Tata’s new 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol ‘Hyperion’ engine that produces 125hp and 225Nm. All three engines come with a 6-speed manual as standard, along with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic option. This makes it the only mass-market diesel car in India to offer a dual-clutch auto.
The cabin of the Curvv is carried over from the Nexon and Nexon EV, save for a few changes like a dual-tone burgundy and black theme. The dashboard design and centre console are identical, while the four-spoke steering is from the Harrier and Safari.
On the feature front, it packs a segment-first powered tailgate with gesture control, 18-inch alloy wheels, flush door handles, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, reclining rear seat, and ventilated front seats. The Curvv’s safety suite consists of six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, ESC, disc brakes on all four wheels, TPMS, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and more.
The Curvv goes up against the new Citroen Basalt coupe-SUV, while also serving as an alternative to mid-size SUVs such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor and Skoda Kushaq.
All prices are ex-showroom, India.
