Electric commercial vehicles register 1,000-plus sales for 3 months in a row

Growing demand for zero-emission light goods carriers (e-LCVs), which have a 62% share of e-CV sales, sees the e-CV industry deliver over 1,000 units in each of the past three months. With cumulative January-July 2025 retails of 7,054 units, the e-CV industry is set to drive past last year’s 10,076 units soon. While market leader Tata Motors’ share has fallen to 29% from 62% a year ago, Mahindra’s has jumped to 18% from 7% in the year-ago period.

The electric commercial vehicle (e-CV) industry in India seems to be in good nick this year, having clocked 1,000-plus unit retail sales for three straight months: May to July 2025. July 2025 sales of 1,248 units are the second highest monthly sales after the FAME II-ending March 2024’s 2,156 units.
