Electric 3W sales grow to over 360,000 units in first-half CY2025, eat into CNG 3W market

With sales of electric 3-wheelers clocking 60,000-plus units in April, May and June, cumulative first six months’ retails at 361,734 units are up 15% and place the sector on track to surpass CY2024’s record 691,302 units. Mahindra, the first legacy OEM to enter the e-3W market, maintains its leadership with a 10.57% share while Bajaj Auto takes second place with 9.26%. Like the e-2W industry, there is a shakeout underway with a few legacy OEMs taking charge of the 575-player market. And CNG 3W sales have fallen by 11 percent.
