TVS King EV Max sells 5,624 units in H1 CY2025, captures 1.55% 3W market share

TVS Motor Co, the latest legacy ICE three-wheeler OEM to enter the electric three-wheeler market, has already made a mark in the first six months of CY2025. As per Vahan retail statistics, the Chennai-based auto major has sold a total of 5,624 units in the January-June 2025 period with sales increasing sharply, month on month (see six-month data below).

June retails of 1,655 units are the highest monthly numbers yet for the TVS King EV Max, which gave it a market share of 2.73% last month. H1 CY2025 sales of 5,624 units make for a 1.55% share of the 361,734 e-3Ws sold.

As the data table above depicts, sales have risen rapidly month on month – starting from 133 units in January and scaling a high of 1,655 units in June 2025. While Q1 CY2025 retails were 1,179 units, Q2 numbers increased 277% to 4,445 units, albeit on a low Q1 base. Nevertheless, the first-half CY2025 sales of 5,624 units are enough to propel the recent entrant into 11th position in a field which comprises 575 players at last count, as per Vahan.

This performance gives the TVS King EV Max an H1 market share of 1.55%, which is creditable considering it now keeps company with other legacy players like longstanding market leader Mahindra Last Mile Mobility (H1 CY2025: 38,262 units, 10.57% market share), Bajaj Auto (33,521 units, 9.26% market share) and Piaggio Vehicles (7,357 units, 2.03% market share), while remaining ahead of Omega Seiki (3,614 units, 1% share), Atul Auto (3,359 units, 0.92% market share) and TI Mobility / Montra Electric (3,116 units, 0.86% market share).

The zero-emission King EV Max, whose styling is close to the petrol-engined TVS King sibling, is powered by a 9.7 kWh lithium-ion LFP battery pack claimed to deliver a travel range of 179km per charge and a top speed of 60kph. The TVS King EV Max, which develops maximum power of 11 kW and 40 Nm of torque, has three riding modes with different top speed limits – Eco (40kph), City (50kph) and Power (60kph). As per the TVS King EV Max’s tech specs, 0-100% charging takes three-and-a-half hours while a 0-80% charge takes two hours and 15 minutes.

The TVS King EV Max also gets Bluetooth-enabled connected features which are similar to those on TVS’ two-wheelers and enable the user to access vehicle diagnostics, last parked location and call and message notifications which are conveyed via a negative LCD.

The TVS e-3W features an LED headlight with an integrated Daytime Running Lamp and LED tail-lamp. Interestingly, the King EV also has a water-wading capacity of up to 500mm.

It’s early days yet for the TVS King EV Max and the zero-emission 3W is currently available in only a few states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi and Bengal. Will the second half of this year see TVS Motor Co move up the ladder and closer to the market leaders? Stay tuned for regular sales updates.
