Spinny Partners with Tesla to Facilitate Electric Vehicle Adoption in India
The collaboration offers exchange benefits totaling up to ₹3.25 lakh to help Indian customers transition from conventional cars to EVs.
Spinny, one of India's prominent used car marketplaces, has entered into a partnership with Tesla to streamline the transition from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to electric vehicles for Indian consumers. The collaboration was announced on February 4, 2026.
As one of Tesla's preferred exchange partners, Spinny will facilitate a combined platform where customers can sell their existing vehicles and purchase a Tesla through a unified digital process. The partnership is part of Tesla's Switch and Save program, which aims to make electric vehicle ownership more accessible across India.
Under the arrangement, customers switching to Tesla through Spinny are eligible for an exchange incentive of ₹3 lakh from Tesla's program, along with an additional Spinny-exclusive exchange bonus of up to ₹25,000 upon delivery. The company states that financing options begin at ₹49,000 per month with a down payment of ₹6 lakh.
Tesla vehicles come with lower operational costs compared to conventional vehicles. According to the companies, customers could save up to ₹20,000 monthly on fuel and maintenance expenses. The Model Y includes a complimentary wall connector for home charging, with costs estimated at ₹1 per kilometer.
The selling process has been designed for convenience—customers can sell their current vehicles through the Spinny app, at any Spinny Hub, or at Tesla Centres, and complete their Tesla purchase through the same digital platform.
Niraj Singh, Founder and CEO of Spinny, commented on the partnership's objective to simplify electric vehicle adoption. He emphasized that the collaboration combines Spinny's technology-driven platform with Tesla's electric vehicle offerings to create an integrated upgrade experience for consumers.
India's electric passenger vehicle segment is experiencing significant growth, expanding at over 40 percent year-on-year according to SIAM data. However, electric vehicles still represent less than 3 percent of total passenger vehicle sales in the country, indicating substantial room for market expansion.
Spinny operates over 57 car hubs across India and maintains a presence in 76 cities. The company, founded in 2015, has evaluated over 9 lakh cars and served more than 2 lakh customers in 2025. All vehicles on the platform undergo a 200-point inspection and come with a 5-day money-back guarantee and one-year warranty.
