Volkswagen has begun pre-bookings for the Tayron R-Line in India, marking its entry into the premium seven-seater SUV segment, with local assembly, advanced safety systems and a feature-rich package ahead of its February launch.
Volkswagen Passenger Cars India has commenced pre-bookings for the Tayron R-Line, its upcoming flagship SUV for the Indian market, ahead of its scheduled launch in February 2026. Customers can reserve the model with a booking amount of ₹51,000 across authorised dealerships and the company’s official digital platforms.
The Tayron R-Line will mark Volkswagen’s entry into the premium seven-seater SUV segment in India, expanding its local portfolio beyond the Taigun, Virtus and Tiguan R-Line. The model is being locally assembled and is positioned as a fully loaded offering, aimed at buyers seeking space, technology and performance.
The SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 204 PS and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed DSG transmission and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. Volkswagen claims a 0–100 km/h time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 224 km/h.
In terms of features, the Tayron R-Line comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS with 14 assistance functions, nine airbags, a large 15-inch infotainment display, a digital cockpit, an augmented reality head-up display and a panoramic sunroof. Interior highlights also include electrically adjustable front seats with ventilation, massage and memory functions, along with multi-zone climate control.
Volkswagen says the Tayron R-Line is designed to cater to evolving customer demand for larger, more versatile SUVs, as the premium utility vehicle segment continues to grow in the Indian market.
