Petronas TVS Racing Announces INRC 2025 Participation with Updated Motorcycles and Rider Line-Up

PETRONAS TVS Racing, the factory racing team of TVS Motor Company, is gearing up for the 2025 season of the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) with a revamped line-up of riders and upgraded racing machines. The new season begins on May 4 in Nashik.

Having built a legacy of over 40 years in Indian motorsports, TVS Racing boasts an impressive 80% win rate across competitive events. In 2025, the team aims to continue that momentum while celebrating two decades of its flagship motorcycle brand, TVS Apache.

Vimal Sumbly, Head Business – Premium at TVS Motor Company, remarked that the new season represents another step forward in the company’s commitment to performance and innovation. “We’ve combined upgraded bikes and international rider training to once again raise the bar for Indian motorsports,” he said.

TVS Racing’s rally bikes for 2025 have been redesigned with performance-focused improvements inspired by global rally events like Dakar. The engine now features an upgraded camshaft and cylinder head that boost midrange and top-end power to improve stage times. The suspension systems have been retuned for better traction, stability, and handling under high-speed rally conditions. Ergonomic updates to the seat, footpegs, and handlebar positions are designed to reduce rider fatigue and offer improved control during extended stages. These changes are the result of extensive benchmarking and learning from international rally raids.

TVS Racing’s team for INRC 2025 includes experienced and emerging riders across multiple categories. In the Superbike Pro-expert Group A category, Abdul Wahid, Rajendra RE, and Samuel Jacob will compete using the TR 450R. The Super Sport 260 Group B category will feature Imran Pasha, Banteilang Jyrwa, and Sachin D riding the TR 200R. In the Women’s Class, Aishwarya Pissay will participate with the TR 200R, while the Scooter Class up to 210cc will see Asif Ali, Shamim Khan, and Karthik N riding the Ntorq SXR 125.

TVS Racing remains dedicated to developing homegrown talent through advanced training programs. Group A riders, including reigning champion Rajendra RE, underwent intensive sessions in Dubai and participated in the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge to enhance rally navigation, precision riding, and endurance. Aishwarya Pissay, a multiple-time Ladies Class champion, further developed her skills by competing in the Hungary and Spain rounds of the 2024 Baja World Cup.

This season also marks the 20th anniversary of the TVS Apache motorcycle brand, which reflects the company’s “Track to Road” philosophy. The Apache range, spanning 160cc to 310cc models, incorporates race-derived features such as ride-by-wire technology and race-tuned fuel injection. The Apache Owners Group (AOG), with more than 400,000 riders, demonstrates the strong community that TVS has built around its performance motorcycles.

Since its inception in 1982, TVS Racing has played a vital role in developing motorsports culture in India. It was the first Indian manufacturer to launch a One Make Championship in 1994 and has since used its racing expertise to develop products like the TVS Apache and Ntorq 125. As the INRC 2025 season kicks off, PETRONAS TVS Racing aims to continue setting benchmarks in both competitive racing and rider development.
