NueGo joins forces with CheckMyBus for Eco-Friendly intercity travel

NueGo, an electric intercity bus service operated by GreenCell Mobility, has partnered with CheckMyBus, a global bus travel metasearch platform to promote eco-friendly and sustainable travel, contributing to global efforts to combat climate change and reduce carbon emissions.

NueGo’s electric buses connect over 100 cities across India, offering a cleaner and more comfortable alternative to conventional bus services. The partnership with CheckMyBus will make NueGo’s network accessible to travelers worldwide, enabling international and domestic guests to explore India’s diverse destinations while minimizing their environmental impact. The initiative aligns with India’s vision of promoting green and sustainable mobility.

Devndra Chawla, managing director and CEO of GreenCell Mobility, emphasized the importance of the partnership in connecting with global travelers from over 100 countries. He highlighted the role of NueGo’s zero-emission electric buses in promoting sustainable tourism and reducing carbon footprints while showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage and diverse landscapes.

Marc Hofmann, CEO of CheckMyBus, noted the global shift towards greener transportation options. He described the collaboration as an opportunity to enhance the travel experience while contributing to a cleaner planet.

NueGo’s fleet of electric buses is designed with a focus on safety, comfort, and convenience. These buses undergo 25 stringent safety checks and are equipped with advanced security measures, including CCTV surveillance, GPS live tracking, driver breath analyzer tests, and speed locks at 80 km/hr. The company has also been a pioneer in addressing women’s safety, offering features such as a 24x7 helpline, dedicated Pink Seats, and hygienic rest stops.

GreenCell Mobility, which operates NueGo, is India’s largest electric bus mobility provider. The company is supported by Eversource Capital, a climate impact investor that focuses on renewable energy and e-mobility solutions. Through its electric buses, GreenCell Mobility aims to provide affordable, non-polluting shared transportation while supporting the broader goal of reducing carbon emissions.

CheckMyBus, based in Germany, is a global platform that provides real-time bus schedules and connects travelers with bus services in over 100 countries. Its partnership with NueGo enhances its ability to offer sustainable travel options to a global audience, reinforcing the push towards environmentally conscious mobility solutions.
