Nissan Magnite Reaches 200,000 Sales Globally

Nissan Motor India announced that its Magnite compact SUV has reached 200,000 cumulative sales across domestic and export markets since its launch in 2020. The milestone was revealed by the company on June 4, 2025, from its Gurugram headquarters.

The Magnite has been manufactured in India under Nissan's "Make in India, Make for the World" strategy. The vehicle is currently sold in over 65 countries, including both right-hand drive and left-hand drive markets. Export operations have expanded from 20 markets initially to the current 65 international markets.

Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, stated that the achievement represents a significant moment for the company's Indian operations. He attributed the success to the vehicle's design, quality, and features, while expressing gratitude to customers in India and international markets.

The compact SUV competes in India's B-SUV segment, offering features that include over 20 segment-first specifications and more than 55 safety features. The vehicle's design targets urban customers seeking a combination of utility and style in a smaller form factor.

Nissan Motor India recently introduced a CNG retrofit kit for the Magnite, manufactured by Motozen and approved by government authorities. The kit is priced at INR 74,999 and is compatible with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine variant with manual transmission. Installation will be conducted at government-authorized centers.

The company reported consolidated sales of over 99,000 units for the financial year 2024-25, representing its best single-year performance in seven years. Domestic Magnite sales contributed over 28,000 units annually, while export sales reached over 71,000 units, establishing India as an export hub for the model.

The Magnite was first launched in 2020 as part of Nissan's strategy to strengthen its position in the Indian automotive market. The vehicle's success has contributed to the company's sustained growth in India while simultaneously serving international demand through exports from Indian manufacturing facilities.
