Exponent Energy Named Among World Economic Forum's Technology Pioneers List
The World Economic Forum launched its Technology Pioneers initiative in 2000 to identify early-stage companies with technologies that could transform industries.
The World Economic Forum has selected Exponent Energy for its 2025 Technology Pioneers list, recognizing 100 early-stage companies from 28 countries driving innovation across industries.
Ten Indian startups earned spots on the list, with Exponent Energy joining companies developing technologies in space, robotics, healthcare, and logistics sectors.
Exponent Energy has developed a charging system that powers EV batteries from 0 to 100% in 15 minutes while providing a 3,000-cycle life warranty. The system works with standard Li-ion cells.
The Bengaluru-based startup, co-founded in 2020 by Arun Vinayak and Sanjay Byalal, has raised $44.6 million across Pre-series A, Series A, and Series B rounds. Investors include Lightspeed Venture Partners, Eight Roads Ventures, YourNest VC, 3one4 Capital, AdvantEdge VC, and the family office of Dr. Pawan Munjal, Chairman and CEO of Hero MotoCorp.
Over 2,000 EVs currently use Exponent Energy's technology across Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Hyderabad.

- Equal - Identity verification and financial data sharing
- Freight Tiger - Software-enabled freight network
- GalaxEye - Multi-sensor Earth observation systems
- SolarSquare - Residential solar panel systems
- The ePlane Co. - Electric air taxis for city transportation
The World Economic Forum launched its Technology Pioneers initiative in 2000 to identify early-stage companies with technologies that could transform industries. The program has over 1,200 alumni. Selected companies participate in a two-year engagement with the Forum and attend global meetings, including the Annual Meeting of the New Champions held June 24-26 in Tianjin, China.
Exponent Energy is a Bengaluru-based startup founded in 2020 by Arun Vinayak and Sanjay Byalal Jagannath. The company specializes in rapid EV charging technology and has developed a comprehensive ecosystem for ultra-fast charging of commercial electric vehicles.
