Sujan Group unveils new product range, two-wheeler JVs set to kick off in mid-2018
The products include fuel hoses and quick connectors, brake hoses and oil seals, canisters, valves and fuel assembly, among others. New Mega-Hefa JV to make BS IV-compatible canisters and valves, and BS VI electronic purge valves
The Mumbai-based Sujan Group, which operates in seven industry verticals and has 15 production facilities, launched several new products for the auto sector at the Auto Expo – Components Show last week. These include fuel hoses and quick connectors, brake hoses and oil seals, canisters, valves and fuel assembly, among others.
Group company, Mega Rubber Technologies, set up in 1995, showcased products from its upcoming joint venture with Hefa Science & Technology of China, and will introduce canisters and valves for BS IV emission norms, and electronic purge valves for BS VI emission norms. A new JV – Mega-Hefa Science and Technologies – is set to start operations at Manesar in June 2018. These products will target both two- and four- wheelers.
Another Group company, Polyrub Extrusions, established in 1982, will also be inaugurating a new plant at Vitthalapur, 80km from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, around the same time. Polyrub Extrusions makes a variety of automotive hoses and fuel tubes for two- and four-wheelers.
The Sujan Group also displayed products from other group companies such as Polyrub Plastics and its first plant, Sujan Industries as well as its JVs with Cooper Standard Automotive of the US. Sujan CooperStandard AVS which has a state-of-the-art plant at Chakan, supplies anti-vibration products including engine mounts, dampers, bushes, torque rods, struts and suspension parts for Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki India, Renault-Nissan, Ford, Munjal Showa and Tenneco. In 2017, it inaugurated its second plant near Chennai for supplies of AVS for the Renault Kwid.
The Group’s second JV with Cooper Standard, Polyrub CooperStandard FTS, which also has a plant at Chakan, makes fluid transfer systems that includes a variety of hoses such as coolant hoses, breather hoses, sunroof draining hoses, turbo-charger hoses, and others. Its customer base includes BMW, Fiat Chrysler, Jaguar Land Rover (via Lander), GM and Tesla , among others. The Group has an R&D centre at Chakan.
