Mahindra confirms participation in bid for second round of EESL tender
Mahindra & Mahindra has said that it has the balance 130 eVeritos, from its 150-unit order in Phase 1, ready for delivery in Delhi.
Mahindra Electric, which delivered its first set of 20 electric Verito sedans to the state-run Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) on November 15 as part of Phase 1, today confirmed that it is participating in the second round of bidding for the EESL tender for EVs.
Speaking today in Mumbai, at the announcement of the Mahindra-Uber collaboration deploying the e20Plus hatchback and eVerito, Dr Pawan Goenka, managing director, M&M, said that Mahindra will participate in Phase 2 of the EESL tender.
As regards Phase 1, the company said that it has the remaining 130 vehicles ready for delivery in Delhi. The eVerito has a certified driving range of 180km and 140km in real-world driving conditions on a single charge.
As is known, the EV manufacturer’s 150-car order is towards Phase 1 which calls for delivery of 500 cars, the deadline for which is November 30, 2017. Phase II involves the balance 9,500 EVs of the 10,000 vehicle order the government body issued.
