Daimler India Commercial Vehicles is looking to expand India’s role within Daimler Truck’s global operations as it prepares to deploy a fresh ₹4,000 crore investment in Tamil Nadu.
In an interaction with Autocar Professional, DICV Managing Director and CEO Torsten Schmidt discusses how the investment will support new products, manufacturing, engineering and exports, while opening up greater global responsibilities for its Indian operations.
Schmidt also talks about BharatBenz’s growth priorities and DICV’s electric vehicle roadmap, including the FUSO eCanter and the possibility of using India as a manufacturing and export base for zero-emission trucks.
