India’s auto industry posted strong dispatch numbers in July 2026, with wholesale volumes at around 4.65 lakh units and channel stock up 60-65 thousand units. All segments recorded growth as new production capacity came online.
The bigger story is the fuel shift: petrol’s market share fell below 50% for the first time, while CNG climbed to 24%. EVs had a standout month — 2-wheeler EVs crossed 2 lakh units in retail sales, with PV and 2W EV retail sales up around 95%.
