Zelio E-Mobility Opens Hisar Plant, Adds 72,000 Units To Annual Capacity

Zelio E-Mobility has commenced commercial production at its new manufacturing facility in Patan, Hisar, Haryana, adding 72,000 units to its annual installed production capacity. The expansion takes the company's total manufacturing capacity from 2.4 lakh units to approximately 3.12 lakh units per annum.

The new facility has an annual production capacity of 48,000 electric two-wheelers and 24,000 electric three-wheelers. It has commenced production of electric scooters under the Zelio brand and Tanga electric three-wheelers. The additional capacity is expected to come on stream during Q3 FY2026-27, with production volumes to be scaled according to dealer demand, product mix and supply-chain readiness.

Spread across six acres, the plant has a built-up area of 2,61,360 sq. ft. Zelio has committed an investment of more than ₹20 crore towards the facility under its approved capital expenditure plan. Part of the investment has been funded through proceeds from the company's initial public offering (IPO), with the remaining requirement to be met through internal accruals.

The Hisar facility is Zelio E-Mobility's fourth manufacturing plant, alongside its existing facilities in Ladwa, Haryana; Cuttack, Odisha; and Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. According to the company's facility-wise capacity details, the Ladwa plant has an annual capacity of 1.2 lakh units, while the Cuttack and Coimbatore facilities each have capacities of 60,000 units.

Zelio E-Mobility Expands Manufacturing Integration

The new facility includes in-house fabrication, painting and assembly lines, supporting the company's backward-integration plans. These capabilities are intended to give the company greater control over manufacturing processes and components, while managing production costs and supply-chain requirements.

The company expects the additional capacity to support its dealer network, improve product availability and shorten replenishment timelines as it expands its presence in Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets.

Commenting on the investment, Divyanshu Agarwal, CEO, Zelio E-Mobility, said the facility was designed to improve control over manufacturing processes, production consistency and dealer supply. He also identified local manufacturing talent development and engagement with the regional industrial ecosystem as areas of focus as operations scale.

Kunal Arya, Managing Director, Zelio E-Mobility, said the new facility would support the company's expansion across Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets, with profitability and working-capital discipline remaining key considerations.

Zelio Targets 550 Dealerships By FY2027

The company said the facility is expected to generate employment across fabrication, painting, assembly, quality control, maintenance and warehousing, along with indirect opportunities for local suppliers and logistics providers. Hiring is expected to increase as production scales and additional product lines are introduced.

Zelio reported revenue of ₹313.68 crore in FY2025-26, representing year-on-year growth of 81.8%. Its revenue compound annual growth rate (CAGR) stood at 121% over the past four years, according to the company. It also stated that it has remained profitable since inception.

Listed on the BSE SME platform in October 2025 at an issue price of ₹136 per share, Zelio raised ₹78.34 crore through its public issue.

The company currently operates a network of more than 400 dealerships across over 25 states and is targeting an expansion to more than 550 dealerships by FY2027.
