Yulu says more than 12,000 women working in the on-demand home services sector have used its shared electric vehicle platform across 12 Indian cities, highlighting the growing role of low-cost mobility solutions in the expanding home services market.
The company said its EV-sharing and battery-swapping ecosystem is being used by professionals engaged in services such as home cleaning, meal preparation and laundry. It added that easier access to mobility has enabled users to take up 25-30 percent more assignments daily by reducing commuting constraints between service hubs and customer locations.
According to the company, the milestone comes as India's online home services market continues to expand. Citing estimates from Redseer Strategy Consultants, Yulu said the market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18-22 percent, reaching nearly $1 billion by FY2030. It added that around 35,000 women are currently employed in the on-demand home services segment, with the workforce expected to increase as the industry formalises and access to mobility improves.
Yulu said its EV rental model includes battery swapping and vehicle maintenance, lowering the cost of ownership for workers who may not have access to personal vehicles. The company noted that its lightweight, low-speed electric vehicles do not require a driving licence under existing regulations applicable to the vehicle category.
The company also stated that its platform has supported more than 550,000 gig workers and delivery partners across India to date. It claimed that many delivery partners using its vehicles have reported income gains compared with petrol-powered two-wheelers, although it did not disclose independent verification for these figures.
"Our platform lowers that barrier by providing simple, affordable access to EVs, allowing service professionals to complete more assignments, earn more consistently and work on their own terms. The on-demand home services category is growing at remarkable speed, and Yulu is proud to be the mobility backbone enabling that growth," said Amit Gupta, Co-founder and CEO of Yulu.
