Volkswagen India has officially introduced the Tayron Life SUV to its domestic vehicle lineup. The model enters the market with an introductory price tag of ₹41.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and represents the brand's second locally assembled vehicle rollout inside the country this calendar year.
Built upon the company's modular structural dimensions, the five-seater SUV measures 4,792 mm in overall length and sits on a 2,789 mm wheelbase platform. The cabin architecture allocates an 885-litre rear luggage hold that can be expanded to a maximum capacity of 2,090 litres when the second-row seats are fully folded down. Nitin Kohli, Brand Director at Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, noted that the model launch is positioned to secure a stronger baseline share within the localized premium commuter market.
Mechanically, the vehicle is powered by a 2.0L TSI EVO turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and the company's proprietary 4MOTION all-wheel-drive configuration. The engine assembly generates 204 PS of maximum power and 320 Nm of peak torque. The ride architecture incorporates an independent front suspension utilizing coil springs and McPherson struts alongside a multi-link assembly at the rear axle.
The vehicle introduces Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) incorporating 14 separate active safety features, which include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind spot detection, and an integrated exit warning setup. Inside the cabin, electronic amenities feature a 26.03 cm customizable digital cockpit dashboard, a 32.77 cm central infotainment screen running wireless smartphone connectivity, an 8-speaker sound network, three-zone automatic climate control, and 12-way power-adjustable front seats equipped with heating, ventilation, and targeted massage programming.
