Vingroup’s Electric Cab Arm Green SM Starts Driver Hiring Campaign in India
Social media campaigns linked to Green SM suggest early driver-partner onboarding activity in NCR ahead of the company’s expected India mobility play, with advertisements promising earnings of up to ₹40,000 per month.
Vingroup-backed electric mobility platform Green SM has started running driver-partner hiring campaigns in India, signalling early groundwork ahead of its expected entry into the country’s cab aggregation and fleet mobility space.
Social media advertisements seen across platforms by Autocar Professional, including campaigns linked to handles such as ‘greendriver dot gsm’, are encouraging drivers to join the platform as driver-partners through messaging such as ‘Driver Nahi, Partner Bano’
The advertisements promise earnings of up to ₹40,000 per month, along with insurance benefits and performance-linked incentives. The creatives also prominently feature VinFast-branded electric vehicles carrying Green SM badging.
The campaigns appear to be targeted at NCR-based drivers, with visuals featuring Delhi landmarks and Hindi-language messaging. The advertisements are currently visible across platforms such as Instagram.
Green SM, also known globally as GSM or Green and Smart Mobility, is the electric taxi and ride-hailing business backed by Vietnam’s Vingroup ecosystem. VinFast itself is also part of the Vingroup group.
“They will be using only VinFast vehicles,” VinFast Asia Chief Executive Officer Pham Sanh Chau had earlier said while speaking about the mobility platform.
“There is a company called GSM, which is part of the Vingroup ecosystem. They have their own plans, which will be announced later,” VinFast India CEO Tapan Ghosh had said during the launch of the VinFast MPV7 earlier this year.
The development indicates that the broader VinFast-Vingroup ecosystem may be preparing a larger mobility play in India beyond vehicle sales alone, potentially spanning fleet operations, ride-hailing and EV ecosystem development.
Green SM’s India plans also come at a time when the country’s EV-only cab aggregation space is undergoing disruption following the suspension of BluSmart’s operations earlier this year, potentially opening up space for newer electric mobility platforms. The company could also indirectly challenge larger aggregators such as Uber and Ola in the urban electric mobility segment.
VinFast is already preparing for its India passenger vehicle operations through its upcoming Tamil Nadu manufacturing facility and has also shown interest in fleet-oriented mobility opportunities.
