Vikrampati Singhania Takes Helm at ACMA as Industry Faces Electrification Challenges
JK Fenner MD appointed President for 2025-26 term while Brakes India's Sriram Viji becomes President Designate amid evolving automotive landscape.
The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) has named Vikrampati Singhania, Managing Director of JK Fenner (India) Ltd., as its President for the 2025-26 term. The association simultaneously appointed Sriram Viji, Managing Director of Brakes India Pvt. Ltd., as President Designate.
The leadership transition occurs as India's automotive component sector navigates significant industry shifts, including supply chain restructuring, geopolitical uncertainties, and the accelerating adoption of electric vehicles.
ACMA Director General Vinnie Mehta highlighted the timing of the appointments, noting that the auto component industry faces challenges from "geopolitical volatility, supply chain realignments, and accelerating electrification." He expressed confidence that the new leadership would advance the organization's objectives of strengthening India's global competitiveness and promoting research and development initiatives.
In his first statement as President, Singhania emphasized India's growing role in global mobility supply chains, citing record-high exports and increasing electric vehicle adoption as key market developments. He outlined priorities including deepening localization efforts, investing in advanced technologies, and integrating sustainability practices into core business operations.
The new President indicated that ACMA would work toward positioning India as both self-reliant and a global leader in next-generation mobility components, with continued government support and industry collaboration being essential elements of this strategy.
ACMA represents India's automotive component manufacturing sector, serving as the primary advocacy body for companies involved in the production of automotive parts and systems. The organization plays a key role in policy discussions and industry development initiatives within India's automotive ecosystem.
