Vedanta Aluminium drives sustainability at COP28, releases 4th Annual Sustainable Development report

Vedanta Aluminium, India's foremost aluminium producer, showcased its commitment to global sustainability at COP28 in Dubai. CEO John Slaven emphasised aluminium's pivotal role in sustainable applications, supporting economic decarbonisation.

Aluminium, a vital metal, continues to grow in importance, anchoring sectors like aerospace, automotive, and green infrastructure. Vedanta Aluminium launched its 4th Sustainable Development Report at COP28, outlining its initiatives for climate change, decarbonisation, and inclusive socio-economic growth. The report covers operations in Jharsuguda, Odisha, Lanjigarh, and Korba.

Slaven stated, "At Vedanta Aluminium, we are accelerating our efforts to achieve Net Zero by 2050, reflecting our commitment to the environment and a sustainable future." The report highlights achievements, including an 8% reduction in GHG emissions intensity and a 16% production increase in FY23. Vedanta Aluminium emphasises a Triple Bottom Line approach: People, Prosperity, and the Planet.
