VECV Wholesales Jumped by 7.3% in May 2025 YoY to 7,402 Units
Joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors sells 7,402 units in May 2025, with domestic truck sales driving growth despite HD segment decline
VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (VECV), a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, sold 7,402 units during May 2025, compared to 6,901 units in May 2024, translating into a growth of 7.3%. The sales number includes sales from EVs.
In the domestic sales SCV Trucks and LMD Trucks (<18.5T) sales stood at 3,236 units in May 2025 as against 2,809 units in May 2024, translating into a growth of 15.2%. Secondly, HD (≥18.5T) sales stood at 1,502 units in May 2025, when compared with 1,635 units in May 2024, down by 8.1%.
LMD Bus segment, on the other hand, recorded 1,882 units in May 2025 as against 1,718 units in May 2024, suggesting a YoY growth of 9.5%. Additionally, in the HD Bus segment, the total YoY domestic sales for the month of May 2025 stood at 138 units when compared with 142 units—suggesting a slide by 2.8%.
On the export front, VECV sold 289 units of LMD during May 2025 as against 267 units in May 2024, translating into a 8.2% growth. The HD during May 2025 stood at 93 units when compared with 15 units in May 2024, suggesting a 520% growth. Likewise, the company exported 119 units buses during May 2025 vis-a-vis 133 units in May 2024- a decline of 10.5%.
In operation since July 2008, VECV is a multi-brand, multi-division company comprising a range of Eicher trucks and buses, Volvo buses, exclusive distribution of Volvo trucks in India, engine manufacturing and export hub for the Volvo Group, non-automotive engines, and Eicher component business.
The company operates through nibe manufacturing facilities spread across India, supported by a strong dealership network of over 990 touchpoints. The company is exporting to over 40 countries.
