Valeo Racer, a world premiere XR (Extended Reality) Gaming Experience in the car has been selected by a car manufacturer to equip vehicles in major Asian automotive markets, only a little over a year after it has been presented as a demo at SXSW (South by Southwest) in Austin, US.

Marc Vrecko, CEO of Valeo Brain Division, said: “We are thrilled to launch Valeo Racer as a world premiere with a car manufacturer for Asian markets. In-car entertainment is becoming increasingly important to enhance the overall user experience for passengers and is made possible thanks to Valeo’s leadership in ADAS, combined with innovative ideas to unleash the value of your car’s existing sensors”.

Valeo anSWer, Valeo’s software solution created in 2023 to offer best-in-class applications, middleware and services is now entering the world of gaming, thanks to the development of Valeo Racer.

Valeo Racer is a unique extended reality (XR) gaming experience for passengers who can play on their phone or tablet connected to the vehicle’s wi-fi. The game is an offer for a new type of in-car entertainment and a demonstration of what Valeo’s augmented reality software development kit delivers.

Valeo, the world leader in driver assistance systems, is using its expertise to offer video game developers and automakers the means to develop a new type of game combining the vehicle’s real environment and 3D elements.

Using software developed by Valeo, the game uses the vehicle’s advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) (cameras and radars) as well as the perception and artificial intelligence algorithms already on board to insert the car’s real environment into the game, something that has never been offered before. Valeo Racer will be on the market in the first quarter of 2026.
