TVS Motor company supports Indian Navy on 2,500 km North East expedition

The Indian Navy has partnered with TVS Motor Company for a 2,500 km expedition across North East India, aimed at inspiring youth to consider careers in the armed forces. Over the course of 15 days, 40 Navy personnel will ride TVS Apache motorcycles through Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam. This initiative seeks to highlight career opportunities in the Indian Navy, including the Agnipath scheme, and to engage with students at schools and colleges along the route.

The expedition, organised by the Navy’s motorbike team known as ‘The Sea Riders,’ was flagged off from Vayu Shakti Sthal in Shillong by Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, with other military officials in attendance. The journey is intended to inspire communities in the region and enhance awareness about the Navy.

The contingent includes four women, reflecting the Navy's commitment to the Naari Shakti initiative and aiming to motivate young women to explore career opportunities within the armed forces.

Vimal Sumbly, Head Business – Premium at TVS Motor Company, expressed gratitude for the collaboration, noting that the TVS Apache series embodies qualities of adventure and resilience, aligning with the values of Navy personnel. He highlighted the importance of this partnership in supporting the armed forces and empowering youth.

In his remarks, Vice Admiral Pendharkar emphasised the role of adventure activities in promoting personal and team development within the Navy. He thanked TVS Motors for their collaboration and wished the Sea Riders a safe and memorable journey. The TVS Apache series has gained popularity globally, with over 5.5 million customers across more than 80 countries, showcasing a commitment to inspiring youth through shared values of perseverance and courage.
