The Toyota Technical Training Institute conducted the convocation ceremony for its 16th batch of students today, recognising 200 graduates for completing training programs focused on advanced manufacturing practices. The cohort includes 60 students from TTTI's regular three-year program and 140 from the two-year Toyota Kaushalya course.
During the event, Toyota formalised three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening the skilling ecosystem:

With the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) to support certification and content development in the electronics domain.

With the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) for training and certifying trainers, assessors, and students in core automotive roles.

With seven private ITIs in Karnataka to enable collaborative training and skill development.
The convocation was attended by Dr. Sreedhara Panicker Somanath, former Chairman of ISRO, as chief guest. Representatives from national skilling bodies, Toyota’s global technical training institutes, and Toyota’s Indian and international leadership also participated.
TTTI, established in 2007 and located at Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s Bidadi facility, provides fully residential, no-cost training for underprivileged youth from rural Karnataka. It offers industry-aligned training in areas such as vehicle assembly, welding, painting, mechatronics, and more recently, auto IT skills.
To date, TTTI has trained 1,417 students, with over 1,050 currently enrolled. Of the alumni, 481 have been placed at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, with others joining supplier organisations or overseas roles.
TTTI’s programs are aligned with the Japan-India Institute for Manufacturing initiative and have consistently produced participants who have won national and international skills competitions. In 2024, students received Medallions of Excellence in Additive Manufacturing and Mechatronics at the World Skills Competition in France.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor reaffirmed its commitment to skill development in India, including support for over 80 government ITIs across Karnataka. Graduates from TTTI receive multiple certifications, including the National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC), ASDC certification, JIM certificate, and Toyota’s Certificate of Completion.
