Top end variants account for half of Dzire bookings

The new Maruti Dzire has already amassed 30,000 cumulative bookings in just under a month since the launch that took place on November 11. The brand has further confirmed that it has delivered around 5,000 units of the new Dzire. Maruti says the compact sedan is averaging around 1,000 bookings each day, which is double of what was seen with the previous-gen car.

The Dzire, a direct rival to the recently launched Honda Amaze, is priced between Rs 6.79 lakh and Rs 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom), and the higher-spec ZXI and ZXi+ trims are particularly well loaded. Maruti has conveyed that the top two trims have gathered over half of total bookings so far.

The Dzire ZXi, which is priced from Rs 8.89 lakh, gets full-LED headlamps, 15-inch alloy wheels, push button start stop, wireless phone charging, auto AC and connected car tech, among others. The ZXI+, priced from Rs 9.69 lakh, goes all out with dual-tone alloys, larger 9.0-inch touchscreen, Arkyamys tuned sound system, a single-pane sunroof, auto-folding wing mirrors, a 360 degree camera and cruise control.

New Maruti Dzire waiting periods for December 2024
Dealer sources tell us that the entry-spec LXi and the mid-spec VXi variants are available within a few weeks due to their relatively low demand. This is natural given that Maruti has still kept the previous-gen Dzire on sale in Tour guise for the fleet segment.

The more sought after ZXI and ZXI+ trims with MT gearbox have a waiting period of around two months at most outlets. Automatic gearbox-equipped ZXi and ZXi+ trims can be delivered in under three months at most locations. Meanwhile, the Dzire CNG also has a waiting of close to three months, depending on inventory.

New Dzire safety features
All variants of the new Dzire come with six airbags as standard, along with ESP, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist and three point seatbelts with reminders for all occoupants. While these safety features have become common in this segment, the icing on the cake for the new Dzire is its 5-star GNCAP rating which is quite big in the compact sedan space, and has also given a significant boost to the brand’s image globally.
