The third-gen Amaze test drives to begin by mid-December
New Honda Amaze bookings open unofficially at the dealer level; dispatches to outlets commence.
The new Honda Amaze will be available to customers for test drives by mid-December, Autocar India can confirm. Though Honda Cars India is yet to commence bookings for the third-gen Amaze, it can be booked unofficially at the dealer level, according to sources. The company has started dispatching the new Amaze, set for a December 4 launch, to its dealerships.
Third gen Honda Amaze to take on new Maruti Dzire
With the recently launched new Dzire taking the compact sedan game to the next level, Honda has its work cut out for the upcoming third-gen Amaze.
Going by the teasers revealed a few weeks ago, the new Amaze’s looks will differ completely – inside and out – from the outgoing car. With the new Amaze, Honda seeks to replicate the City’s success. Sources tell us that the car will have familiar styling cues that make it resemble the current-gen City from almost every angle, thus giving the customers a more premium look and feel of the City in a smaller and more affordable package.
On the inside, the new Amaze will most likely share the same dashboard layout as the Elevate, replete with the same infotainment screen and switchgear. There could be minor differences in shades and material.
As for the powertrain, the new Amaze will continue with the current 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that comes mated to either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic. Sources tell us that there are plans for an Amaze CNG as well, which will go on sale a little later.
