Tesla Launches First Punjab Pop-Up in Ludhiana, Showcasing Model Y Premium
The week-long event at Pavilion Mall offers test drives and guided walkarounds, marking Tesla's debut in the state of Punjab.
Tesla has opened its first pop-up experience in Punjab, bringing the Model Y Premium to Pavilion Mall in Ludhiana from March 6 to March 12, 2026. The event marks the American electric vehicle manufacturer's debut in the state, offering residents the opportunity to view the vehicle up close, participate in guided walkarounds, and book test drives through the Tesla India website.
The Model Y Premium, which Tesla describes as the world's best-selling vehicle for three consecutive years — 2023, 2024, and 2025 — has received top safety ratings from major global testing bodies including NHTSA and IIHS in the United States, Euro NCAP in Europe, ANCAP in Australia and New Zealand, and C-IASA in China. Using Tesla's Supercharger network, the vehicle can add up to 267 km of range within 15 minutes.
Two variants are currently available in the Indian market. The standard Rear-Wheel Drive model is priced at INR 59,89,000 and offers a WLTP range of 500 km, while the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive variant is priced at INR 67,89,000 and extends the range to 661 km. Both variants share an identical top speed of 201 km/h. An order deposit of INR 22,220 and an administrative and service fee of INR 50,000 apply to both trims.
To lower the barrier to entry, Tesla is offering an exchange incentive of INR 3,00,000 for customers trading in petrol or diesel vehicles. The company has also announced a financing option with monthly installments starting from INR 49,000, based on a seven-year tenure at 8.5% annual percentage rate under a step-up EMI plan, with a minimum down payment of INR 6,00,000. Tesla estimates that switching to the Model Y could yield fuel and maintenance savings of up to INR 20,000 per month for drivers covering approximately 1,500 km monthly.
All Model Y purchases in India include a complimentary home wall connector. Tesla states that when charged at home, the cost of electricity can be as low as INR 1 per kilometre depending on local power tariffs.
Beyond the Ludhiana event, Tesla currently operates three permanent locations in India: a centre in Gurugram, an experience centre in Mumbai's BKC district, and a facility at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, all open daily from 10 AM to 9 PM.
