Terra Charge inaugurates EV charging hub at Bhopal Airport

Terra Charge, in collaboration with the Airports Authority of India (AAI), has inaugurated an electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at Raja Bhoj International Airport, Bhopal. The facility, located in the airport's parking area, became operational on November 29, 2024. The event was attended by members of the Terra Charge team and representatives from AAI.

The charging hub spans 75 square meters and is equipped to handle four EVs simultaneously. It features one slow charger based on Japanese technology and one 30 kW fast charger, catering to the varying needs of public and commercial fleet vehicles. The initiative aims to expand Bhopal’s EV charging network and improve accessibility for EV owners in the region.

At the inauguration, Apurba Das Mohapatra, Business Director of Terra Charge, spoke about the collaboration with AAI and its significance in promoting sustainable infrastructure. He expressed gratitude to AAI officials, including Airport Director Ramjee Awasthi, AGM Commercial K.P.S. Sikarwar, and Manager Commercial Nidhi Shrivastava, for supporting the project. Mohapatra noted that the joint initiative is expected to benefit EV owners in Bhopal and encourage broader adoption of electric vehicles.

The new charging hub can be located using the Terra Charge Mobile App. Terra Charge is also exploring further initiatives and partnerships to expand India's EV charging infrastructure, aligning with the country’s growing EV market, which is projected to reach USD 23.38 billion by the end of 2024.

Terra Charge is an emerging player in India’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure sector, focusing on developing reliable and accessible charging solutions to support the country’s transition to sustainable mobility. The company works on establishing a network of EV charging stations across key urban and semi-urban locations, aiming to cater to the growing number of private and commercial EV owners.

Collaborating with public and private entities, Terra Charge installs advanced charging hubs at strategic locations such as airports, highways, and urban centers. The company’s charging facilities often include both fast and slow chargers to meet the diverse needs of its users. Terra Charge also integrates technology into its services through a mobile app, enabling EV users to locate and utilise charging points efficiently.

Terra Charge places emphasis on partnerships with government bodies and private organisations to enhance EV accessibility and encourage adoption. By contributing to the expansion of India’s EV ecosystem, the company aligns itself with national goals for reducing carbon emissions and promoting cleaner transportation alternatives.
