Tata Technologies has announced the launch of the fourth edition of its flagship engineering innovation hackathon, named InnoVent-27. The global product engineering and digital services company has partnered with Amazon Web Services and Emerson’s Test and Measurement business to organize the nationwide competition. The initiative provides a technical platform for engineering students in India to address real-world industrial challenges by utilizing decentralized computing solutions.
The central theme for this year's edition is focused on "AI at the Edge," which tasks participants with designing and building localized, real-time intelligent software architectures. Product submissions are required to target advanced applications across the automotive, aerospace, and industrial heavy machinery sectors. Prospective areas of innovation include advanced driver assistance systems, predictive maintenance modeling, digital twin configurations, smart manufacturing setups, and energy-efficient mobility solutions.
The hackathon is open to third-year and fourth-year engineering students, with the evaluation framework structured to actively prioritize inclusive team representation, particularly involving women innovators and differently abled members. Top participants will be offered direct employment opportunities at Tata Technologies, along with cumulative cash prizes totaling Rs 4.5 lakh. Successful teams will also receive access to specialized cloud computing services from Amazon Web Services and software-defined test and measurement tools from Emerson.
