Tata Technologies inaugurates 22 industry technology centres in Tamil Nadu
Post upgradation, these technology centres will act as technology and industrial hubs for MSMEs.
Tata Technologies, an engineering and product development services firm, has inaugurated 22 modern industry 4.0 technology centres. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin inaugurated the Industry 4.0 Technology Centres at an event held in Oragadam, Chennai.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman, TATA Sons, Warren Harris, CEO and MD, Tata Technologies, Thiru. T. M. Anbarasan, Minister for Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises; Thiru. C. V. Ganesan, Minister for Labour Welfare and Skill Development; Thiru. T. R. Baalu, Member of Parliament, Sriperumbudur; Thiru K. Selvaperundhagai, Member of Legislative Assembly, Sriperumbudur, key members of Tata Technologies and local body representatives and dignitaries from various fields.
Tata Technologies had signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Government of Tamil Nadu in June’22 to transform 71 government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into technology centres with modern infrastructure and training facilities to meet the industry 4.0 standards.
Post upgradation, these technology centres will not only cater to the advanced skill requirements of students but also act as technology and industrial hubs for MSMEs. The upgraded technology centres will help upskill and reskill the youth of Tamil Nadu, fostering more job opportunities.
These modern Industry 4.0 technology centres will facilitate upskilling through long-term courses such as manufacturing process control and automation, industrial robotics, mechanic electric vehicle, virtual verification, advanced manufacturing, etc.
Tata Technologies has in the past also signed an MoU with Uttar Pradesh, where it committed to investing Rs 4,200 crore in the technical education and skill development sectors. It has also signed agreements with Chhattisgarh for developing its ITI hubs, besides other states.
