Tata Motors Showcases 11-Vehicle CV Portfolio at Cape Town Event

The showcase included electric trucks, pickups and buses across multiple applications, highlighting Tata Motors’ focus on international commercial vehicle markets and Africa operations.

Tata Motors has showcased its widest-ever commercial vehicle portfolio in Sub-Saharan Africa, displaying 11 vehicles across cargo and passenger mobility segments at an event in Cape Town, South Africa.

The line-up included electric commercial vehicles, intermediate and light-duty trucks, pickups and buses aimed at urban logistics, mining, construction and passenger transport applications. The company said the showcase reflects its focus on developing application-led mobility solutions for international markets.

Among the key products on display were the all-new Ultra Prime RE rear-engine intra-city bus and the Azura range of intermediate and light-duty trucks designed for regional and inter-city haulage operations.

The electric vehicle portfolio included the Ace Pro EV mini-truck, Intra EV pickup, Ultra E.9 light truck and Prima E28.K electric tipper for mining and construction applications. Tata Motors said the vehicles have been developed to address urban cargo movement and zero-emission operations across different use cases.

The company also showcased its Intra V30 and V70 pickup range, along with the Azura 1918 truck. On the passenger mobility side, Tata Motors displayed the Ultra Prime RE midi bus, LPO 1618 Magna, LP 909 Bus and LPO 1623 Nova inter-city bus.

“Asif Shamim, Head – International Business, Tata Motors Ltd., said the showcase demonstrates the range of platforms and technologies the company is developing across segments, including electric vehicles tailored for different operating conditions and use cases.”

Tata Motors currently operates across 29 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and said it has sold over 340,000 commercial vehicles in the region. The company also stated that it has more than 320 service touchpoints and seven assembly operations across Africa, including facilities in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia.
