Tata Motors, which continues to witness robust demand in the Indian passenger vehicle market and is the strong No. 3 player after Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motor India, has launched the new Nexon EV Max Dark.

An extension of the company's Dark range, the new Nexon EV Max Dark will be available in two trims: XZ+ LUX (priced at Rs 19.04 lakh, ex-showroom, all India) and XZ+ LUX with a 7.2 kW AC fast charger for customers across the country (Rs 19.54 lakh).

Vivek Srivatsa, Head, Marketing, Sales and Service Strategy, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility said, “The Nexon EV is India’s Number 1 EV, and in a short span has been loved and trusted by over 50,000 customers, making it the flagbearer of India’s EV evolution.”

He further added that with the success of the Dark series and the popularity of the Nexon EV Max, the company felt it was the right time to introduce the Dark edition of the all-electric.

The Nexon EV Max Dark is the first to get some new upgrades on the entire Nexon line-up. These include highly responsive 26.03 cm infotainment, high resolution HD display, 180-plus voice commands, high definition rearview camera and wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

Tata Motors has the first-mover advantage in India's fast-growing electric vehicle market, where it has an over 80% market share with the Nexon EV, Tigor EV and Xpres-T (for fleet buyers) and the Tiago EV. As per the company, it has logged wholesales of 50,043 EVs in FY2023, which marks strong 154% YoY growth (FY2022: 19,668 EVs).

The company's EVs are now seeing the first round of proper competition: the Nexon EV with the Mahindra XUV400 and the Tiago EV with the upcoming MG Comet EV.
