Switch Mobility and Purple Bus Flag Off First Electric Intercity Coaches in Vidarbha

Switch Mobility and Purple Bus officially annonced the launch of an electric intercity bus service on the Nagpur–Chandrapur route in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

The deployment marks the flag-off of the first six units from an order of 50 EiV12m intercity electric buses placed by Purple Bus for operation across Vidarbha. The launch follows previous joint electric coach deployments on the Mumbai–Pune and Dombivli–Pune corridors earlier this year.

The deployed Switch EiV12m intercity coach features 45 pushback seats, a operating range of 350 km per charge, and fast-charging capability for long-distance operations.

Ganesh Mani, Chief Executive Officer of Switch Mobility, said, "Following our deployment on the Mumbai - Pune route earlier this year, we are glad to extend this partnership to Vidarbha and to contribute to the region’s growth by supporting the everyday movement of the people who depend on it."
