Skoda Introduces New Epiq Electric Entry Level Crossover

Skoda Auto has unveiled the Epiq, a new compact electric SUV intended to serve as the entry point for the brand in the battery electric segment. The manufacturer states the base variant will achieve price parity with its internal combustion engine counterpart, the Kamiq, across various markets.

The new EV will be offered with two battery chemistry options and three power outputs. It has three power variants, ranging from 85 to 155 KW power, with torque standing between 290 to 440 Nm depending on the variant. The smaller battery variant has a range of 310 kilometres, while a larget 55 KWH battery increases it to 440 kilometres. This higher capacity battery supports fast direct current charging from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 24 minutes. The vehicle also introduces bidirectional charging capabilities, allowing the battery to power external appliances or supply energy back to the grid.

The Epiq marks the production debut of the 'Modern Solid' design language for the automaker, characterized by a new T shaped light signature and a glossy black front fascia. Measuring 4,171 millimetres in length, the crossover achieves a drag coefficient of 0.275 through aerodynamic optimizations including active cooling shutters and underbody airflow management. It has a 475 litre primary luggage compartment and an additional 25 litre front storage trunk. The cabin utilizes a 13 inch Android based infotainment screen.

Skoda plans to launch the model with a limited First Edition equipped with the top specification 155 kilowatt powertrain and exclusive Navajo Orange design accents. The vehicle launch aligns with the broader electric vehicle expansion strategy of the Volkswagen Group subsidiary, which reported global deliveries of over 10.4 lakh vehicles in 2025.
