Royal Enfield is expanding its liquid-cooled 452cc motorcycle family with the Scram 450, expected to arrive in Indian showrooms in the first quarter of 2027. The motorcycle, internally codenamed K2K, will join the Himalayan 450 adventure bike and the Guerrilla roadster as the third model on the company's Sherpa platform.
The Scram 450 will be powered by the same 452cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine found in its siblings, with output figures expected to be in the region of 40hp and 40Nm of torque. Royal Enfield is likely to give the motorcycle a distinct engine tune and may also revise the final drive ratio to better suit its dual-purpose intent. A new upswept circular exhaust muffler will set it apart visually from the Himalayan and the Guerrilla.
On the chassis front, the Scram 450 will use a 19-inch front wheel and an upside-down fork, with a 17-inch rear wheel and a monoshock. The exact suspension travel is yet to be confirmed, though Royal Enfield is expected to offer a setup with slightly less travel than the Himalayan's 200mm at both ends, following a similar approach to how the Scram 411 was derived from the Himalayan 411.
The motorcycle's design will feature the Himalayan's tall beak and a conventional front mudguard, while the seat and rear section will be unique to the Scram. A scooped single-piece seat flanked by numbered side panels is expected, drawing visual comparisons to the Triumph Tracker 400. The riding position is anticipated to be upright, similar to the Himalayan.
In terms of features, the Scram 450 will carry the round TFT display seen across RE's 452cc range, supporting Google Maps screencasting via smartphone. Switchable dual-channel ABS, multiple riding modes, and a slip-and-assist clutch are also expected to be part of the package.
Pricing has not been officially announced, but the motorcycle is expected to be positioned between the Guerrilla (₹2.49 lakh to ₹2.72 lakh) and the Himalayan 450 (₹3.06 lakh to ₹3.37 lakh). Its closest rival in the segment will be the Triumph Scrambler 400 range, priced between ₹2.59 lakh and ₹2.89 lakh ex-showroom.
